2019 LWV Program on Redistricting

On Saturday, November 9, 2019, the League of Women Voters, the Texas Civil Rights Project, and Fair Maps Texas sponsored a public forum on redistricting. The meeting was designed to help attendees learn about redistricting in Texas. Included was a training on why and how to prepare public testimony to present at a legislative hearing. The handouts referred to in the video are available below.

Speakers for the evening were:

  • Dr. Robert Lowry, Professor in the Political Science Program at UT Dallas

  • Elisabeth MacNamara, immediate past President of LWV-US

  • David Jones, President of Clean Elections Texas

     

The moderator was:

  • Joaquin Gonzalez, Attorney for Texas Civil Rights Project
